We won the German Entrepreneurship Awards 2016
It’s been quite the whirlwind since last Thursday – the phones have been ringing off the hook, the mailboxes overflowing…We’re over the moon to have been awarded the German Entrepreneurship prize for 2016 in the “rising stars” category (for businesses founded between four and nine years ago)!
None of us could possibly have anticipated this back in 2008 when we started mixing the first drinks and brewing the first teas in Jakob’s shared flat, hoping to get our favourite cafes, bars and clubs in bohemian St. Pauli to sample them.
We’re really pleased that our “drinking helps” concept, and social entrepreneurship in general, has been thrust into the spotlight. Now the mainstream media, print and broadcast, can see that projects serving a good cause can also be economically successful in the long term.
Even if our dress-down Fridays sometimes last that bit longer…
Technically, the prize is for the founders of the business, but in this case it was definitely won by the entire Lemonaid and ChariTea team, who put their heart and soul into their work, and also by your trust in us. Thank you – this makes us happiest of all!
P.S.: Here you can find the awards ceremony on the ZDF website (in German). Jakob, Paul and Felix are on at 28 minutes, 30 seconds.
P.P.S: Time to celebrate – cheers!
